Sharon was passed from us who love her back into the soothing embrace of her Savior on Monday, March 27, 2023. At that time she was being comforted and cared for by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Keith, who held her hand and ushered into her eternal bliss.
Sharon was a caring and devoted daughter of Floyd Hale, Sr. and Lorraine Hale, sister to Floyd Hale, Jr. and John Hale. She was a loving lifelong partner for Keith and a wonderfully doting and proud mother of two sons, Joseph and Blake, Aunt Sharon to many nieces and nephews and Nana to her favorite, Delaney. Sharon was the glue that bound their military family together through the travels and challenges of many new assignments throughout Keith's 20-year military career, and she was such a trooper while doing so. She also was the one who used her calm demeanor and crafting abilities to console her family and repair the treasures cracked and broken by many oh-so-gentle military moving contractors - and her boys.
Throughout all the uprooting and turmoil Sharon remained steadfast and grew personally with each challenge, being certain she kept a loving, supportive and nurturing home life for her family. Keith and the boys could always count on Sharon's caring nature and did so in their times of joy, sadness and shenanigans.
While tending to her family Sharon also was driven to explore her own interests, finding time to garden, craft, and expand her culinary arts, involving and teaching Joe and Blake because she made it interesting and fun for them. Snapdragons in the ground outside, houseplants inside, ceramics at the Arts and Crafts Center on Whiteman AFB and cooking in her kitchen. Especially in her kitchen. And then came her cherished granddaughter, Delaney. That's when Sharon's baking fun got turned up to 11! Her kitchen was bathed in a new love and purpose with Delaney.
One of her most cherished achievements was attaining her high school diploma, which she worked toward diligently and earned while being the busy family lady she was. She lived and led by example.
Sharon was a lady of many talents and interests and she was happy to share them with those she cared for. She expressed her love for many while preparing meals at The Office Cafe and later throughout her career as a beloved 'lunch lady' at Knob Noster High School. There she found her niche with her friends Helen, Joan and Anna and she spread her care over thousands of children who appreciated her handiwork, prepared and served with her bright smile and encouraging words. She was widely known as 'most likely to sneak you extra' to many of those growing adolescents. Especially of that school peanut butter concoction - and the mashed potatoes and gravy on 'Mystery Meat Wednesday'.
Sharon developed an interest in horses and bought one to learn to ride with her friend, Mona. She took up stained glass with Carol. She dabbled on and off with casting and painting ceramics. She joined a group of ladies she adored and admired and became quite good at crafting homemade greeting cards and scrapbooks. If you ever received an envelope with postage due from your friendly postal worker marked 'non-machinable', it was probably from Sharon. She just couldn't resist adorning her heartmade cards with beads and googly eyes. She kept up with her gardening until just a couple of years ago when she passed that baton to Keith.
Through all of her iterations and interests, she held her family together, and for that they are eternally grateful. Please join us in remembering and celebrating such a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and Nana. Rest well and in eternal peace, Sharon, Mom, Nana. You are missed beyond words and forever in our hearts.
