Mary Helen (Fletcher) Plummer, 93, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center. She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on July 3, 1932, to R. E. and Rubye Fletcher.
Mary married Gerald Plummer, Sr., and they shared 64 devoted years of marriage before his passing. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to their community.
Mary wore many "hats" throughout her life, a testament to her diverse talents and unwavering work ethic. She worked as a church secretary and a factory worker, and even trained Tennessee Walking horses. A true Renaissance woman, she also enjoyed life as a hobby farmer, fishing, sewing, quilting, singing, baking, and spending time with family.
A dedicated member of Grover Park Baptist Church in Warrensburg, Mary was a beacon of faith and service. Her commitment to her Lord's work was evident in all she did. She mentored numerous young couples, guided youth groups, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday school. She also participated in Lay Renewal conferences, continually seeking to deepen her spiritual life and share her faith with others.
Mary and Gerald were well known for their generosity, frequently opening their home to those in need. They took in children from struggling families and were foster parents to three boys, always doing their best to help wherever they saw a need. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Rubye Fletcher, her beloved husband, Gerald Plummer, Sr., brother Bill Fletcher, and sister Betty (Fletcher) Hanson.
She is survived by a brother, Bob Fletcher of Marion, IA and a sister, Barbara (Fletcher) Thorson of Eldon, MO; her three loving sons and daughters-in-laws Gerald (Jerry) Plummer, Jr. and wife Kim of St. Joseph, MO; Micheal Plummer and wife Kat of Keystone Heights, FL; Paul Plummer and wife Cheryl of Warrensburg, MO; her grandchildren Johnathan Plummer and wife Desiree of Los Angeles, CA; Lorelei (Plummer) Burns and husband Matt of St. Joseph, MO; Jeremy Plummer and wife Jessica of Lebanon, MO; Becky (Plummer) Carver of Ripley, TN; Troy Plummer and wife Melissa of Warrensburg, MO and Cole Plummer and wife Taigan also of Warrensburg, MO; along with several great-grandchildren.
