Marlene
Kennedy
Jan 8, 1936 — Jul 1, 2023
Knob Noster
Marlene was born on October 8, 1936 in Pratt County, Kansas, to E. Harry and Inez (Flory) Wray. The Master called her home on July 1, 2023, at the age of eighty six years.
At the age of ten years, she moved with her parents to Donnels Creek, Ohio, near North Hampton. She was baptized on August 21, 1952 into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. In 1957, she moved back to Sand Creek, Kansas, where she enjoyed working as a nurse aide at Pratt County Hospital and doing housework. Marlene was united in holy wedlock to Glenn Kennedy on March 29, 1959, near Pratt, Kansas. To this union were born five children: Dean (Cindy), Konnie (Andrew) Jonassen, Dale (Molly), Jana (Joseph) Markley and Gary (Alisa). They lived a few miles east of Sawyer where they raised their family and farmed for many years. She helped with farm work whenever needed.
In 1998, Glenn and Marlene moved to Walnut Creek, Missouri, near Knob Noster, where they made new acquaintances. They lived the remainder of her life there. Marlene especially enjoyed sewing and made many dresses for her granddaughters. Together, Glenn and Marlene enjoyed life's many happy experiences and endured the sorrows over sixty-four years. Serving the Lord faithfully was their goal. They especially enjoyed their twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, also two step grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Glenn's parents, her two brothers and three sisters, Glenn's three brothers and two sisters, and two grandsons.
Trusting God's perfect will and timing, Marlene's family and friends will keenly miss her presence.
