Obituary

Lucy Carol Rucker, age 80, of Holden, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 11th, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Kenova, West Virginia, Lucy lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and devotion to those she loved most.

Lucy spent 21 dedicated years working at Giovanni's Pizza in Ashland, Kentucky, where her hard work, humor, and caring heart made her more than just a coworker — she became family to many. It was there that she met the love of her life, Wesley D. Rucker, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and faith.

Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her cherished sister Ruth Robinson, beloved children: Eddie and Trish Reffitt, Tammy Dawn Bostic, Chuck Smith, and Tony and Jessica Smith; six cherished grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, who will forever remember her gentle touch, her warm smile, and her endless love.

Lucy's greatest joy was her family. She loved to shop and laugh. Her kindness, humor, and strong spirit touched everyone she met. She had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and cared for — a rare gift that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A service honoring Lucy's life will be held on October 28th at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East, located at 100 Veterans Memorial Drive in Grayson, Kentucky. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful life of a woman whose love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

Lucy's memory will live on in the laughter of her family, the warmth of her home, and the love she shared so freely.
