Leonard Lee
"Mick" Lamb
May 10, 1934 — Jul 2, 2024
Leonard Lee (Mick) Lamb passed away peacefully on July 2nd 2024.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Bristle Ridge south of Warrensburg, MO, the son of Ted and Beulah (Dillingham) Lamb.
Mick graduated from Leeton High School and, after failing to enlist in the armed forces due to asthma, began to work various jobs in the Kansas City area including Westinghouse and Solo Cup factory.
On Halloween day in 1957, Mick met his sweetheart of 64 years, Glenda Holland, at a Halloween party in Centerview, MO, bobbing for apples. Three years later, on October 30th, 1960, they were united in marriage at the Church of Christ in Warrensburg, MO.
Mick was an avid fan of car racing and owned a racecar throughout much of his life. The #96 sprint car and later modified stock car was a central figure in his life and brought him much joy. He was blessed to have great drivers, namely Jay Lyle, now deceased, and his son Chad Lyle. Most Saturday nights were spent breathlessly at the racetrack and, winning or losing, a great time was always in store. His love for racing was something he shared with his family and friends, leaving a mark of that will never fade.
Mick is survived by his spouse: Glenda Lamb; daughters: Sheranda Hunter (Lucien); Gretta Miller (Jeff); grandchildren: Brooke Graffis; Brooke Morgan; Brittany Huffman; Adam Hunter; Cole Miller; Samuel Miller; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ted and Beulah Lamb; and sister: Judy Darlene Lamb.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 with Johnny Brooks officiating. A private Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lucien Hunter, Jeff Miller, Joseph Huffman, Cole Miller, Samuel Miller, and Trenton Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Lyle and Doyne Holland.
In lieu of donations, the family requests that everyone attend a Saturday night race and remember Mick Lamb.
We find comfort in Knowing that Mick's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
