John James "Jay" Lyle 86 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.

Jay was born September 27, 1937 in Knob Noster, Missouri the son of Alonzo Wayne Lyle and Nancy Grace (Bullard) Lyle.  He graduated from Knob Noster High School.  Following high school, he served in the U. S. Navy.  Jay was united in marriage to Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Martin on November 9, 1963 in Sedalia.  The couple made their home in Warrensburg. He served as Engineering Supervisor at Western Missouri Medical Center for 48 years, retiring in 2011.  His passion was dirt circle track car racing.

Survivors include his two sons: Chad Lyle of Lone Jack, MO and Clint Lyle of Peculiar, MO; and two granddaughters: Taylor Grace Lyle of San Antonio, TX and Morgan Shea Lyle of Springfield, MO.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and a sister, Floretta Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Floyd Hall officiating. Interment will follow at the Knob Noster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12th, also at Williams.
