Obituary

Janet Lorene Ernest, a beautiful soul, passed peacefully to join family and friends in heaven on February 6, 2022, in Amarillo, TX.

Janet was born in Johnstown, PA on March 6, 1929, to Mildred and Francis Grantham. She lived her 92 years and 11 months in a variety of places but her heart belonged to Knob Noster and Warrensburg in MO. Janet never met a person she didn't want to visit with. This wonderful trait served her well in her work over the years as the Voter Registration Clerk in the Johnson County Courthouse and at the title companies she worked for in Warrensburg. She was a Methodist and attended the First Methodist Churches in Knob Noster and Warrensburg. However, Janet would never turn down dinners and events at surrounding churches with her friends. Many happy times were spent traveling on the Senior Center trips, meetings with the Golden Agers and WD 40's, playing bingo, pitch and canasta. We all know she was happiest when she had a full schedule of activities to look forward to. Thank you to all her friends who enriched her life over the years.

Janet is survived by her daughter Jackie (Chuck) Chase, her grandchildren Brandon (Alissa) Chase, Cade (Emily) Chase, Megan Burns, and Michael (Jenny) Burns. She was blessed with eight wonderful great grandsons; Wyatt and Jonah Chase, Samuel, Hudson, and Lawson Chase, Lennon and Redding Burns-Hasty, and Maverick Burns. She was preceded in passing by her eldest daughter, Betty Anne Burns, on August 22, 2018.

As per her request there will be no funeral services. However, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. If you would like to donate to the Warrensburg Senior Center, in her memory, as we celebrate her final trip please do so. Their address is Warrensburg Senior Citizen's Center, 445 E Gay St, Warrensburg, MO 64093, phone number is 660-747-2624.

Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.
