H. Darryl Woody, 83, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at the Kansas City Hospice House.

Darryl was born on October 20, 1941, to Homer and Bessie Woody. He became a Christian at an early age and continued in his faith throughout his life. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors that carried throughout his life. A skilled welder by trade, Darryl spent his working years building and creating with his hands. Outside of work, he found joy in tractor pulls, fishing trips, and tending to his garden.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy (Catherine) Woody; his sister, Loretta Hughes of Broken Arrow, OK; his son, Brian Scott Woody and wife Jen of Spring Branch, TX; his daughter, Gayle Woody Jacobs of Warrensburg; and his beloved grandchildren, Katie Jacobs of Warrensburg, and Dalton and Zane Woody of Spring Branch, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bessie Woody.

A funeral service celebrating Darryl's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 23rd, with visitation one hour prior to the service, both at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.

Darryl's steady presence, quick wit, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Northside Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
