Glenn Henry
Kennedy
Aug 27, 1933 — Aug 17, 2026
Glenn Henry Kennedy was born August 27, 1933, at Sawyer, Kansas, to Henry and Margie Kennedy. On August 17, 2026, just ten days prior to his ninety-third birthday, he was called to the eternal home for which he had been yearning
Glenn grew up on a farm northeast of Sawyer. He was united in marriage with Marlene Wray on March 29, 1959. Just over a month later he was baptized on May 7, into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. He was called to the ministry on September 10, 1966, and served faithfully at Sand Creek, Kansas, and later at Walnut Creek, Missouri, after relocating there in 1998.
With their three sons and two daughters, Glenn and Marlene enjoyed the blessings of life on the farm in Kansas. In Missouri, Glenn drove for a shuttle service and transporting preschoolers and the elderly.
One-on-one conversations with people were treasured by Glenn, and he valued his natural family and church family, being especially fond of the little children.
Remaining with thankfulness for his teaching and example are his children: Dean (Cindy), Konnie (Andrew) Jonassen, Dale (Molly), Jana (Joseph) Markley, and Gary (Alisa), twenty-one grandchildren, and forty-one great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife in 2023, parents, parents-in-law (E. Harry and Inez Wray), two grandsons, a great-grandson, three brothers, two sisters, and Marlene's two brothers and three sisters.
Psalm 116:5, 15 "Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
