Gayle Lynn Motes, 69 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at her home.

Gayle was born September 27, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of H. Fred VanDaveer and Geraldine (Bertolozzi) VanDaveer.  She was raised in Edwardsville, KS.  She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for a time. Gayle was united in marriage to Clarence William "KC" Motes on February 12, 1982 in Kansas City, KS.  The couple made their home in Kansas City, KS; Marmaduke, AR; Kansas City, KS; Holden, MO and Augusta, KS.  She returned to Holden within the past year.  Her interests included Interior Designing, flower gardening and everything Disney.

Survivors include her stepdaughter: Kathy Williams (Denton) of Holden, MO; several nieces and nephews, including but not limited to Krystin Olson, whom Gayle raised as her own daughter, of BelAire, KS and her daughter, Macy; Ashli Corder (Eric) of Olathe, KS and their daughter, Mackenzie and Jenny Weitzel of Kansas City, MO; three siblings: Joy Manges (Gary) of Manhattan, KS; Chris VanDaveer (Stacie) of Kansas City, KS and Kim VanDaveer (Steve) of Arlington, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, KC; and stepson: Tony Allen Motes.

Following cremation, no local services are being planned.
