Franklin C. Dorsey, 91 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Franklin Cranford Dorsey was born April 22, 1929 on a tobacco farm in southern Maryland, son of Franklin Clement Dorsey and Bessie Olivia (Cranford) Dorsey.  Upon graduation from Calvert County High School in 1946, he worked on a farm with his dad and youngest brother, Harvey Linn Dorsey, for three years. Frank left the farm and went to work on a land surveying crew, as a rodman.  He was united in marriage to Jeanne Riess on November 6, 1959 at Glenn Dale, Maryland.  In 1966, the couple moved from Maryland to Missouri.  Frank was employed with civil service for the Department of Defense, eventually attaining the title of "Certified Civil Engineering Technician.

During the early 1970s, he had two registered Doberman Pinchers, that he showed in obedience trials in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, and as far east as Maryland.  Frank eventually became recognized by the American Kennel Club as a professional trainer.  He is survived by two grandsons: Christopher Dorsey and Michael Dorsey.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne and a son, Franklin Charles Dorsey.

Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21 ^st at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens, with Seth Coridan of Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.
