Frank Hite
Calhoon
Sep 29, 1949 — Sep 30, 2026
Fank Hite Calhoon, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, was born in Belleville, Kansas on September 29, 1949. He died unexpectedly on September 30, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Moore Calhoon and Olivia Cleo Hite Calhoon, his sister, Audra May Calhoon Gier, and her husband, Delta Warren Gier, in-laws, Mary Frances Hampton, and Gerald Wilson.
A celebration of life consistent with his lifestyle was held the afternoon of October 8, 2026, at a home where his groups of friends often gathered to play horseshoes. It was complete with bonfire, music, memories and good food.
Frank is survived by his wife, Norma; sister, Barbara; sisters-in-law, Sandra and Darlene; nieces and nephews, Heather, Britany, David (Betsy)and their children, Monty and Maren, Helen (John)and their children, Caden and Erin, and Delta David; and numerous cousins in South Dakota and around our country.
Frank went through the Eldon Missouri School system and graduated from Eldon High School in 1967. He went to college and, with a minor academic set back from having too much fun his first year, he went on to earn a Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. He had a long-time practice in Chiropractic Care in West Central Missouri. He also taught school in various settings at the High School, College and Graduate levels. He was known to friends as "DOC".
Frank had a lifelong interest in floating rivers in his canoes and organized and participated in float trips at all times of the year, in multiple rivers with many friends, family and acquaintances. He was always a guy who "marched", or rather sauntered or ambled, to a different drummer. The most sensitive to his mother of his siblings, He took risks in search of camradery and life experiences. Frank thrived on the relationships he developed through the years, sharing canoeing, bonfires, horseshoes, and neighborly projects with the people he loved.
Of all the jobs he held he liked selling beer at sports games the best. Like any good Eagle Scout, he mentored Boy Scouts and students, some of whom attribute their Academic survival and/or accomplishments to Frank. He is and will be much missed by those who loved him.
Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.
