Doris was born December 18, 1934 in Cameron, Missouri, daughter of Boyd and Helen (Catron) Wilhoit. She was raised at St. Joseph. She was united in marriage to Jack D. Eaton on September 26, 1953 in Independence. The couple raised their children in Independence.

For the past twenty eight years, they have lived near Holden. Doris loved to fish in years past. She also enjoyed going to tractor pulls, accompaning her husband, Jack to Field Trials with Beagles and especially, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; two daughters: Cynthia (David) Heishman of Independence, MO; Connie (Daniel) Johnson of Warsaw, MO; two sons: Craig (Kelly) Eaton of Warsaw, MO and Curtis (Carrie) Eaton of Lee's Summit, MO; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary jane Pickell and brother, Robert Wilhoit.
