Cynthia "Cindy" Kay Hill, 68, of Chilhowee, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at St. Luke's East Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1958, in Bronaugh, Missouri, to Ralph Shields and Lorene "Katie" Virginia Bright Shields.

Cindy spent most of her life in Chilhowee and graduated from Chilhowee High School with the Class of 1976. On May 21, shortly after graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Darrel Allen Hill. Together they built a beautiful life in Chilhowee and raised three children. Just days before her passing, Cindy was able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, one of her final wishes, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Throughout her life, Cindy worked in many administrative and clerical positions and retired from Compass Health in 2019. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Cindy found joy in fishing, painting, cooking, watching Survivor, and making homemade candy with her grandchildren each holiday season. She loved spending time with her family, checking cattle with Darrel, and cheering on her grandchildren at their activities and events. Cindy was also a member of Chilhowee Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel Allen Hill; daughters Amanda Lankford and husband Andy of Clinton, Missouri, and Misty Miller and husband Tim of Chilhowee, Missouri; grandchildren Nathan Lankford, Alexis "Lexi" Miller, Jared Lankford, and Kaylee Miller; brothers Alfa "Ed" Shields and wife Sandy of Chilhowee, Missouri, and Leonard Shields and wife Margaret of Chilhowee, Missouri; sisters Jayne Bywater of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Donne Sherron and husband Tom of Selma, North Carolina; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Allen Hill; her parents, Ralph and Lorene "Katie" Shields; father-in-law Allen Hill; sisters, Virginia Lee Austin, Debbie Parsons, and brothers Richard "Dick" Shields, Tommy Dean Shields, and Donald "Gene" Shields.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m., both at the Chilhowee Baptist Church with Troy Bohannan officiating.

Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her family takes comfort in the many memories she created and the love she shared so freely throughout her life.
