LaMonte
Clo Angel Cass, of La Monte, MO, passed away November 24, 2022, in Warrensburg, MO, after a long illness. She was 85.
A loyal and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher, Clo had a quick wit, a great love for her family, friends and students, and an abounding zest for life. Her natural artistic ability shone in her talent for decorating, basket weaving, home remodeling, gardening, crafting, sewing, and cooking. She got great joy from learning new things and seeing new places, and she enjoyed visits and vacations with family and friends.
She was born February 2, 1937, to Roy Ernest and LeClare Greer, née Dick, and grew up in the Sedalia area, graduating from Smith Cotton High School in 1955. She attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg where she met her future husband, Monte Cass. They married December 27, 1958, and moved to Terre Haute, Indiana. After graduating with her degree in education from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Clo and Monte relocated to Bonita, California, teaching in junior and senior high schools in Southern California until they returned to Missouri in the early 1970s. Clo spent the rest of her career in the Knob Noster R-VIII school system as a teacher and counselor at Knob Noster and Whiteman Elementary Schools.
Clo and Monte were married 57 years before his passing in 2015. She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Krause (Robin) of Phoenix, AZ; and a son, Kirby Cass (Dana) of La Monte, MO.
Clo is also survived by four grandchildren: Joel Krause (Domenica), Brian Cass (Kacie) , Conor Krause (Jeni), and Darby Lewis (Jacob); and four great-grandchildren: Skye Sturtevant, Atlas Krause, Chloe Krause, and Hadley Cass.
In addition to Monte, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Greer, Jr.
