Bettie Frances
Wade
Oct 15, 1925 — Sep 25, 2026
Warrensburg
Bettie Frances (Dallman) Wade passed away Friday, September 25, 2026, in Warrensburg. She was born October 15, 1925, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Walter William and Elizabeth Elmira (Hewitt) Dallman.
On January 24, 1945, Bettie married M.L. Wade in Warrensburg after meeting on a blind date. The couple settled in LaMonte, where they raised their family, while Bettie worked for the telephone company in Warrensburg.
After she and M.L. retired, they moved to Wyoming, where they spent much of their time near Elk Mountain at the cabin M.L. built. Bettie loved taking long walks in the woods and seemed to make friends with everyone on the mountain. She eventually returned to Warrensburg, where she lived for the last several years of her life. Bettie was a voracious reader, an enthusiastic bingo player, and always enjoyed a good laugh. She made the best fudge, pancakes and noodles.
Bettie is survived by her three children, Spencer Wade and Janet Fair, both of Warrensburg, and Neal (Cheri) Wade of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Cindy Wade and Mike (Nichole) Wade of Warrensburg, Vicki (Phillip) Woo of Houston, Texas, Charity (Tyler) Lindholm and Naomi (Josh) Jacobson of Sundance, Wyoming, and Martin (Emily) Wade and James Wade of Tucson, Arizona; and sixteen great-grandchildren: Isaac, Hannah, Dylan, Kara, Daniel, Willow, Lily, Caleb, Paul, Abigail, Corbin, Sophia, Nash, Sadie, Leah, and Edith May.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.L. Wade; and her brother, Max Dallman.
Bettie's infectious laugh and feisty personality will be greatly missed, especially by the children and grandchildren who knew and loved her as "Nanny."
Services will be held Wednesday, September 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Warrensburg, followed by a private burial. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Warrensburg Manor and Elevate Hospice for the care and kindness they provided Bettie.
