Life Legacy

Donald Howard Hensley, 63 of Leeton, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Don was born September 19, 1949 in Harriman, Tennessee, son of William D. and Florence D. (Grace) Hensley. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a drill sergeant in the United States Army, having served in Germany, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Don’s final assignment was Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, where he retired from in 1997. He enjoyed working with stain glass, painting, fishing and golf.

Survivors include four daughters: Doris (Tom)Schnatz of Leeton, MO; Deanna (Joe) Griffith of Colorado Springs, CO; Dawn (Roger) Winsauer of Russellville, AK and Amy (Jason) Farlee of Tucson, AZ; six sisters; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Leeton Christian Church with Pastor Steve Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Mineral Creek Cemetery at Leeton, with Military Graveside Honors provided by United States Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Donald Howard Hensley Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
