Richmond Allen, 96 of Knob Noster, Missouri passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home.
Richmond was born May 3, 1914 in southeast rural Johnson County, son of George Robert and Sallie E. Stuart Allen. He joined El Dorado Methodist Church as a boy. He married Mary Christina Winch on February 25, 1938 in Sedalia. Richmond was a farmer. He lived north of Knob Noster since 1947.
Survivors include two daughters: Claudeen Hannah and husband, Lyman and Anita Gosney and husband, Al, all of Warrensburg; a son, Roy Richmond Allen and wife, Neva of Knob Noster; six grandchildren: Derek Hannah, Marla Walker, Andy Gosney, Angie Sisk, Matt Richmond Allen and Marie Allen; eight great grandchildren: Adam Walker, Megan Green, Shane Hannah, Marshall Hannah, Bobby Sisk, Alana Allen, Erin Allen and Scott Richmond Allen. Richmond was preceded in death by his wife, Christina on May 25, 1996; four sisters: Iona Strickland, Erba Pace, Eunice Bell and Essie Carnes; and four brothers, Chester, Cletis, Stuart and an unnamed infant.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Jerry Basye of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Knob Noster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Gosney, Matt Allen, Steve Walker, Adam Walker, B. K. Allen and Mark Strickland.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
