Life Legacy


Donald E. Wilson, 85 of Holden, Missouri passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at Holden Manor Care Center.


Don was born September 15, 1924 in Versailles, Missouri, son of William L. and Avery L. (Campbell) Wilson. He graduated from Holden High School. He was united in marriage to Marilyn R. McKeown on August 24, 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma. Don was a millwright with Armco Steel in Kansas City for 38 years. He was also a dairy farmer. He enjoyed hunting, especially quail and turkey. He was a member of United Steel Workers, Local #13.


Survivors include two daughters: Ruth Brockhaus and husband, Curt; and Jenny Whitehead and husband, Greg, all of Holden; two sons: Kenneth Wilson and wife, Ann of Oak Grove, Missouri and Philip Wilson and wife, Nicole of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother-in-law, Lorena McKeown of Holden; twenty eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Deidra; two sons, Jeff and Michael; and a sister, Helen Moreland.


Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden. Pallbearers will be Kody Whitehead, Ben Brockhaus, Rick Zauner, Michael Wilson, Scott Durst and Ron McKeown, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clyde David Webster, Jim Koetting, Allan Dean, Don Dougherty, Don Gaines and Joe Reno.


The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
